I am not sure what is the big deal about this series of books, but I did not find it that useful. The formatting and layout is amateurish, pictures are simply terrible and certainly do not excite you about the capacities of such a great camera. It is basically, a slightly more than the original manual. Don’t expect tips or anything that useful out of that book. To summarize, a pump up version of the original manual that deflates very quickly.

Be thankful that the USA’s foremost expert on legacy film cameras has turned his expertise towards the digital realm, and produced this guidebook to the Canon Powershot G10. Concise and complete, this book gives you everything you need to master the often-confusing feature set of Canon’s co-flagship point-and-shoot camera (with the 10MP G11.)

The contents of the book is excellent. The problem is the bad binding. I only read a few times, and the book came apart. The Seller’s Return Policy reads like this. They will replace the item exactly from the same batch. That means the replacement will have the same bad binding. They will charge me double if I fail to return the item within 30 days and if I click the button for replacement.
I will have to keep using the book with all the loose pages, because I need it everyday since I already bought Cannon G10. This Seller is cunning. Don’t buy the book from this seller. Buy one from another seller.

The small owners manual gives you a ton of information with the assumption you know everything they are talking about. The Magic Lantern Guides give you a more concise understanding of the functions of these digital cameras. Not only the how to but why. After all digital cameras are not only cameras but computers. Navigating each digital cameras program can be a challenge. They are not all the same and the transition from film to sensor can be confusing. This is the second Guide I have purchased and I am sure it won’t be the last. It is a must have item in my book. R Wynn

This was pretty good. It’s the almost the same as the manual that came with the camera, but it’s easier to read than the manual.
